This policy describes what data SOS collects, how it is used, and what is never collected. SOS is designed with minimal data collection as a core principle.
Anonymous device identifier. A randomly generated ID is created on first launch and stored securely on your device. It is used only to enable pair matching between two devices. It is never linked to your name, email, or any personal identity.
Motion sensor data. Accelerometer and gyroscope readings are captured during the 8-second sync window. This data is temporarily uploaded to our Firebase backend for score calculation and is not retained after the session completes.
Optional user name. If you choose to enter a name before a session, it is stored locally on your device only. It is never sent to our servers.
Session data. Temporary session records (pairing codes, sync timestamps, scores) are stored in Firebase Realtime Database during active sessions and automatically deleted after completion.
Purchase status. Whether you have purchased premium access is stored locally on your device via encrypted storage. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Google Play or Apple App Store and are not visible to us.
SOS does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any account information. There are no user accounts.
SOS does not collect your location.
SOS does not access your camera, microphone, photos, or contacts.
SOS does not use advertising networks or sell data to third parties.
SOS does not track you across other apps or websites.
SOS uses Firebase Realtime Database (Google) for real-time session pairing and score synchronization. Firebase may collect device and usage data in accordance with Google's privacy policy. Firebase data is stored in the European Union (europe-west1 region).
In-app purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple App Store depending on your platform. We do not receive or store your payment information.
Session data in Firebase is automatically deleted within 10 minutes of session completion. Local calibration history is stored on your device only and can be cleared by uninstalling the app. No data is retained on our servers beyond active session windows.
SOS is rated for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation and collects no personally identifiable information from any user regardless of age.
Because SOS does not collect personally identifiable information and uses only anonymous device identifiers, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
